Born in 1944 to an Air Force family in Douglas, Arizona, Madeline traveled with her family and lived in Alaska and Europe.  In the 1950’s, her family settled in Charleston, SC.  She feels that Charleston and her people portray the warmth, elegance and charm, which are reminiscent of England, which is where she studied art.  Her formal art study includes a degree in Fine Arts from Charleston Southern University and additional study at the College of Charleston.
