Alice Dalton Brown was born in Danville, PA in 1939 and grew up in Ithaca, NY.  She began her studies in France at L’Academie Julian, Paris and at L’Universite de Grenoble.  She then entered Cornell University as an English major and later transferred to Oberlin College, Ohio, where in 1962, she received her BA degree in Art.  She lived in New York City from 1970 to 2005 and now resides in New York’s Hudson Valley.
